Q : What time frame can I expect my goods?

A : Transit times using RoRo vessels are often quicker (often 18 days to Namibia for example) than Container vessels due to speed of loading/discharging and the number of port calls.

Definitions

RoRo- Roll on Roll off vessels.  All types of units can be loaded on the multi-purpose vessels, owing to their deck strength, stern ramp accessibility and acceptance of towed, driven or Containerised units (on mafi or lifted) loaded by local stevedores.  All units are then lashed (strapped or chains depending on unit) under-deck to ensure safe carriage (single or double, weather dependent).

Due to not having equipment to contain the goods, this option is the cheapest way of importing vehicles/machines.

Personal Goods in Vehicles

As a rule, any vehicles loaded in Containers may contain personal effects (however not obstructing the driver seat/functions), which in turn shall be itemised for Customs.  Any vehicle shipped RoRo are commonly not permitted to contain personal effects (however, please consult at the time of enquiry if required).
